De-potting ['dee-pah-ting], verbThe act of removing makeup products from their bulky, excessive packaging to customize, organize, and simplify one’s makeup.
We all have our vices; my two are music and makeup. They’re the things I always turn to.
I love music because it’s the one thing that every single person can relate to; it’s there for every emotion and just every day life. When it comes to makeup, it reminds me of this super awesome way to express myself. It makes me feel more confident and powerful. Give me makeup and music together, and I feel like I can take over the world.
If you’ve been reading these blogs, you know that I am a makeup junkie. When I first started working at Z Palette I had so much makeup that I spent multiple days de-potting it. And I got hooked.
So, de-potting — How do we go about this? Flames? No. Ovens? Nope. Flat irons? Nah. Hot Plate? Nope, won’t detect the makeup pans.
Z Potter? Yes.
I fell in love the moment I put my first eyeshadow palette on the Z-Potter. I turned it to setting 3, then 4 (I’m not the most patient person), waited a couple minutes while having a me, myself, and I party —
Things to do while de-potting:
1. Mini dance party to your favorite song, add hair brush microphone for extra pizazz
2. Order pizza
3. Make a new playlist
4. Order those concert tickets that you’ve been unsure about, but YOLO right?
5. Face mask
6. Pop a bag of popcorn
7. Super power power nap
8. Free write – writing a stream of consciousness is really meditative and relaxing, in my opinion.
9. Brush your teeth – your dentist and teeth will❤u
10. Make a list of things you can do while de-potting
Next thing ya know, it’s time to pop those babies out! Let them cool, wipe off excess glue on pans using 99% alcohol, and *click* — your eyeshadow is ready to go into your Z Palette! It’s way satisfying to arrange your makeup the way you want. It’s also easy to travel with just the makeup you know you’re going to use.
Enjoy your mini de-potting party!
