The SAG Awards show was a great experience. It took place at the Shrine Auditorium. Outside there were plenty of celebrities on the Red Carpet, and inside there was plenty of political talk.
I worked on the producer of the Awards, who was very nice, and super-busy organizing the show. She informed us that the entire show is run by three main women.
I mostly hung out by the side of the stage to be available for touch-ups. I saw the ladies from Hidden Figures — Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae, and Octavia Spencer. Viola Davis was there; Salma Hayek came over, congratulated her, and they started talking about what to do before you go on stage (“Imagine they’re all wearing just underwear out there”).
I was happy to see the cast from Orange is the New Black; they were very surprised and excited about their win. It’s so great to see. I was really into that show, it’s inspiring to see the variety of women represented in the cast.
Touch-ups like these come down to having a mirror and powder handy — powder if they’re shiny, and a mirror so they can see themselves before they go out. The Mirror Z Palette is perfect for this, and in fact was born out of this need — you have your shadows and your mirror (and still your see-through window) all in one place; it’s like having your cake and eating it too…and getting paid for it.
See you at the Grammys next.
